Newhall is deceptively large, in that there are some places that most Santa Clarita residents have NEVER ventured into, such as Quigley Canyon, and Wildwood Canyon. They are far apart from each other, and about as diverse as you can get, with Quigley Canyon homes for sale set in a rancho mecca east of Railroad Ave., while Wildwood Canyon homes are set apart in a mansion enclave.
A short list of notably different neighborhoods in Newhall include:

  • Lantana Hills - Good-sized detached homes within a stones throw of the 14 freeway at Dockweiler Road. ($600's.)
  • Friendly Valley - An enclave of 11 different senior (55+) communities with a small golf course, and a large buy-in. Ask me about that. ($160,000 to $420,000)
  • Happy Valley - The area most think of when you mention Newhall, this area is south of Lyons Ave. and has homes built over a full 90 year time span. The homes, lot sizes, styles, architecture and home prices are as varied as any in L.A. County. ($225,000 to $1.8 Million)
  • Circle J Ranch - A luxury community atop the hills overlooking Railroad Ave. ($650,000 to $1.7 million)
  • Valle De Oro - Large condo complex atop the hills of Dockweiler Drive. ($175,000 to $375,000)
If you are seeing the word hills alot, it's because Newhall stretches across several hillside dividers. You don't have to go outside the city limits to get a great view on a hike, with all the hills. At 95 acres, Wildwood Canyon Open Space is a hidden gem within the southern Santa Clarita Valley.
Commuting from western Newhall to Los Angeles is faster than anywhere but Stevenson Ranch. Ready access to both the 14 and 5 freeways makes this the place to search for Newhall homes if you work deep inside Los Angeles.
